Horoya Athlétique Club, also known as Horoya Conakry and H.A.C., is a football club based in Conakry, Guinea.[2]

History

Horoya won the African Cup Winners' Cup (now the African Confederation Cup) in 1978. One of the most significant players in Horoya in the 1970s and 1980s was Kerfalla Bangoura, who came third in 1979 in the CAF African Player of the Year voting. The club won 2012 first times the Super Cup, after an 2–0 win over FC Séquence. The club reached from 2011 to 2013 the title hat-trick of the Guinée Championnat National.[3]

In 2014, they eliminated the 2013 FIFA Club World Cup runner-up Raja Casablanca in the second qualifying round of 2014 CAF Champions League.[4]

In 2018, the club reached the Group stage of CAF Champions League.

Jersey

Its jersey colours are red and white. The red, symbol of blood of the marytrs for the independence struggle and white for great purity and hope.

The name Horoya signifies liberty or freedom in its local languages, in Arabic, Horoya signifies liberty or freedom.
