Hebbagodi (Kannada: ಹೆಬ್ಬಗೋಡಿ) is a suburb of Bangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is managed by Hebbagodi City Municipal Council. It comes under the Bangalore Metropolitan Region. Hebbagodi lies very close to the so called silicon valley of India, the Electronic City. A metro station under Namma Metro Yellow line is allotted. The Depot on Yellow line is going to be in Hebbagodi.

Demographics

As of the 2011 India census,[1] the population of Hebbagodi was 34,827. Male population constituted to 59.6% (20,771) of the total population and female population constituted to 40.4% (14,056). The population of children in the age group 0-6 years was 3850, which was 11.05% of the total population. The gender ratio was 677:1000 i.e. 677 females for every 1000 men, against the state average of 973. Moreover, the child ratio in Hebbagodi was around 1022 compared to the Karnataka state average of 948. The literacy rate of Hebbagodi was 91.22%, higher than the state average of 75.36%. In Hebbagodi, male literacy was around 94.46%.

Facilities

Hebbagodi is the prime residential area for those working in surrounding industrial areas like Bommasandra Industrial Area, Veerasandra Industrial Area, Electronic City Industrial Township and Jigani Industrial Area. In the recent years, owing to traffic conditions in Bengaluru City, people working for companies like Infosys, Himalaya, Wipro, Biocon at their offices in Electronics City, are preferring to reside in Hebbagodi, thereby turning it into a major residential layout. RK Lakeview is one such layout with all modern amenities. Daddy's Garden, Ananthnagar, GPR Royale Layout and Vasundhara Layout are some well developed residential layouts in Hebbagodi.

Narayana Health City (Earlier Narayana Hrudyalaya) and Sparsha Hospital, which have a global reputation, are some of the hospitals in and around Hebbagodi. The BTL Institute of Technology And Management is in a close proximity to Hebbagodi.

The Namma Metro(Bengaluru Metro) RV road- Bommasandra yellow line will pass through the heart of Hebbagodi, of which the work is in progress. The area is already well connected to other parts of Bengaluru through Bengaluru City Express Tollway Limited (BETL) and Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Expressway Road(NICE Road)

B.E.S School is a famous school which is managed by Prabhakar Reddy and his family.

St. Francis De Sales College, also known as SFS College, is a degree-awarding institution that offers B.A. and B. Com degrees. It is managed by the Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales. SFS Group of Institutions also has a Kannada medium school, English medium school, CISCE(ICSE & ISC), CBSE, PU College and a music academy.
