Head of a Young Woman
Head of a Young Woman is a painting by Pablo Picasso.[1] It belonged to Jaime Botín, a billionaire Spanish banker.[1] On September 12th 2017, the judge Enrique Presa sent Botín to jail, fined him 133 million €, and confiscated the painting.[2] Apparently, Botín had tried to smuggle it into Corsica, France to later sell it in Geneva, Switzerland, thereby violating the non-exportability status that the Spanish Government had granted the painting.[3] If Botín is eventually considered guilty, the picture would become the property of the Spanish State.
