Hassan Tikkodi is an Indian author (mostly in vernacular language Malayalam) from the state of Kerala. He is a poet, novelist (mostly non-fiction), travelogues writer, short story writer, and screenplay writer.

Biography

Hassan Tikkodi was born on 15 August 1951 in a village "Kadiroor" Kannor District and was the second child of his parents. His original family roots are connected with Arabs. A merchant group from Halarmouth (Yemen) came down to Calicut as merchants and they had marital relations ship with one of the Barami Families in Calicut. He is also known as Batha, which derived from the Bhagaviatha family in Halarmouth, Yemen.

He had his early schooling in Kadiroor and later moved to Koyilandy, Poyilkav and ended at Payyoli High School. During his higher education, he was forced to move to Kuwait to wander a Job where his Father and Father"s immediate brother was working. He has continued his education by joining distance course with Rapid Result College London, United Kingdom.

Tikkodi was a hostage for 14 days in Kuwait when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait in1990 early morning of 2 August while he boarded in British Airways Flight bound to Madras and Singapore. He was then released after Iraqi Military has taken all other white skin co-passengers as human shield to Iraq. Though he was released in Kuwait along with other Indian and Asian National he spend few more days in Saddam's proclaimed "19th Provision". Then he decided to move to India with his friends , relatives by driving through Amman's refugee camp but it was very difficult to cross the border and decided to travel via road through Turkey.[1]
