Their father, Sampooran Singh, is the sarpanch of the village of Pritampura and lives there with his wife Ratan, their son Ranvi and Sampooran's aunt, Chai Ji. Ratan learns that Sampooran has a daughter with another woman, Amrita. Ashamed and guilty for cheating on his beloved wife, Sampooran sadly leaves. Amrita also leaves after Ratan insults her, leaving her infant daughter on Ratan's doorstep. Ranvi, not knowing about Sampooran and Amrita, accepts and cares for the baby, naming her Veera. She is best friends with Baldev's sister, Gunjan. A stranger named Nihaal comes to Ranvi's house, on the pretence of being Sampooran's friend. Ranvi and Veera get very close to him and even try to get their mother married to him. Nihaal reveals he is part of the reason Sampooran has died, and Ranvi banishes him from the village. Nihaal leaves Pritampura and the Singh's household.

When Ranvi and Veera take a trip to the city and see the very advanced schools, Ranvi wishes to send his sister there and give her the best education possible. Ranvi tearfully bids goodbye to his sister, as she goes to her new school in the city.

Fifteen years later

Ranvi had not pursued any higher education, and works in his family's farm, despite having a voice that could win over a nation. Gunjan has become a superficial girly girl, who only cares about her looks and marrying rich. Baldev good-for-nothing happy-go-lucky small goon in Pritampura, who only can be brought down by Veera.

Veera tries to use her higher education to better the farmlands of her village to complete her father's dream project. She brings in a friend from the city, Karan, to help her and eventually falls in love with him. Unfortunately, he is bought over buy rich people from the city and breaks the trust of the villagers and Veera. He is sent out and Veera starts to work alone to complete the project.
