Hannah Momoh served as First Lady of Sierra Leone from 28 November 1985-29 April 1992.[1] She was the wife of Joseph Saidu Momoh, 2nd President of Sierra Leone.
First Lady of Sierra Leone
When her husband became president in 1985, Momoh kept a low profile as First Lady.[1]
She felt neglected by her husband and betrayed by his infidelities.[1] Shortly into his presidency, the Fullah community of Kono offered President Momoh a young girl from their community as a "bribe" and her husband accepted.[1] When the girl openly became her husband's mistress, First Lady Momoh left their residence at Wilberforce Road and relocated to London, England in 1989.[1] She remained First Lady in name only until 1992.[1]
