Gurukul Vidyapeeth Institute of Engineering & Technology (GVIET) was founded in 2001 by Swami Vivekananda Educational Trust in Chandigarh.The institute has now been shut in 2017 citing lack of funds All the courses of the institute were approved by All India Council for Technical Education[1] and affiliated with Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University, Bhatinda.

GVIET, formerly known as Gurukul Vidyapeeth Institute of Emerging Technology, or GVIET, was an engineering institute located 25 km away from the city of Chandigarh, India. It offered engineering studies at the bachelors, BBA, BCA, BSC(IT), MSC(IT), MBA, MCA, Applied Sciences and PGDM.
