Gudavi Bird Sanctuary (Kannada: ಗುಡವಿ ಪಕ್ಷಿಧಾಮ) is located in the Soraba taluk of Sagara Subdivision in the Indian state of Karnataka. Gudavi Bird Sanctuary is located on the Banavasi Road in Gudavi of Sorab Taluk which is 16.01 km from Sorab town. The bird sanctuary is one of the best five of Karnataka. It is spread over an area of 0.74 square km.

As per survey, 217 different species of birds belonging to 48 families are found at this place.[1][2] A natural lake and the trees gives shelter to this birds. The picturesque Gudavi Lake with trees all along its banks is a beautiful sight in itself. It is a small seasonal lake and is filled with water mostly in the rainy season. Various avian species migrate from across the globe in different seasons for breeding. A platform is built for bird watchers to have a closer look at the birds.

The nearest airport to Soraba is at Hubli which is at a distance of 165 km. Other airports accessible from Soraba are Mangalore (250 km) and Bangalore (340 km).Its the fastest means of transport to the santuary.Can make a way to the bajpe airport manglore which is almost 10 km away from main bus stand.The entire view of the scene is a wonderful experience to be felt.It is by far one of the best bird scantuary in karnataka. This scantuary is very picturesque and a delight to visit.Travelling by air shall give the best ever experince.

By rail

Sagara is the nearest railhead and is well connected to Bangalore and Mysore by regular trains. if we want to go to godavi santuary freom dakshina Kannada district we have railway rout via Hassan and Charmadi ghats we have to go to Mangalore railway station and from their directly catch the train to Mysore.from mysore to the rout of Bangalore and we have the facility to gudavi bird Sanctuary. Distance between Bangalore and Sagara is 355 km ( or via Chitradurga - NH4 is 410 km) and can be covered in about 6- 7 hrs depending on traffic. There are regular buses between the two cities. Sagara can also be approached from Mangalore and Udupi. The entire route is quite picturesque.[3]

Gudavi is a place where we can find bird sanctuary. this place is 235 km distance from Mangalore port city. There are many road routes to connect Guddavi among them NH 13 is a shortcut route. Commonly this road has ghats section which has highest mountains. Gudavi is nearly 200 km from Mangalore. We can go to Gudavi from Mangalore by private vehicles. Also we can go by service buses. There is good service bus facility from Mangalore. From Bangalore through Mangalore it is nearly 550 km.From Puttur it is about 500 km.
