Government Post Graduate College, (Chakwal)(Urdu: گورنمنٹ پوسٹ گریجویٹ کالج چکوال) is a tertiary college located in Chakwal District, Punjab Province, Pakistan. Govt Post Graduate College Chakwal is the biggest Educational Institute of District Chakwal. Government of Punjab introduced BS (4 Year) in 2010, both for male and female students.This college Affiliated with University of Gujrat for both BS and MA/MSC degree programs. Before BS, this college have BA and MA/MSC degree programs that was affiliated with University of Punjab. Now this college offers BS Degree in 8 Subjects (Economics, English, Chemistry, Botany, Physics, Mathematics, Islamic Studies and IT). Also Classess of 1st and 2nd year held here.

There are two main Campus, one is for BS and the other is for Inter Students. College also have Separate IT Department. A mosque is situated in the College. A Boys Hostel is also there with badminton court. College also have Cricket, Hockey and Football grounds. A tennis and Basketball court also there. A separate Canteen for Boys and Girls. A library is also situated in college. A new Auditorium is also established here (called SEITHI Hall). Another building for new Women College is underconstruction within the college.

History

Historically, the beginning of the Government Post Graduate College Chakwal almost corresponds with the emergence of Pakistan. The locals always aspired to have an institution of higher learning. Eventually, it fell to Raja Sarfaraz Khan the member of the Punjab Assembly of that time, who deliver the goods, precious land in addition to a handsome amount and become the Sir Syed of the Chakwal. The college was inaugurated in 1949 in the present edifice. KHAN FAZAL MUHAMMAD was its first principal. The faculty at that time comprised 14 professors to teach to almost 300 students. But now there are many teachers and more than 2,500 students, quenching their thirst of knowledge. Moreover, in 2010, BS (Hons) 4-year programme in collaboration with University of Gujrat was started.
