Giria is a census town in Raghunathganj II CD Block in Jangipur subdivision of West Bengal, India. It is located at 24°31'0N 88°4'0E with an altitude of 19 metres (65 feet).[1] It was the site of the Battle of Giria.

Demographics

As per the 2011 Census of India, Giria had a total population of 17,131, of which 8,805 (51%) were males and 8,326 (49%) were females. Population below 6 years was 3,136. The total number of literates in Giria was 8,968 (64.08% of the population over 6 years).[2]

CD Block HQ

The headquarters of Raghunathganj II CD Block are located at Giria.[3]
