Ghawiyah is a village in Jizan Province, in south-western Saudi Arabia. After the Saudi intervention in the Yemeni Civil War (2015–present) the Houthi militia managed to stage several small incursions inside the Saudi territory, Al Ghawiyah was one of several villages close to the Yemeni border and thus a targeted by the militia with the goal of sabotaging and destroying Saudi properties. However these small rebels were quickly eradicated by the Saudi Armed Forces [1]
