Rheinland-Pfalz is a Baden-Württemberg-class frigate of the German Navy.

Construction and commissioning

Rheinland-Pfalz, in common with the three other ships of the Baden-Württemberg class, was constructed by the ARGE F125 consortium, consisting of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, Hamburg and Lürssen, Wolgast. Her bow was built Lürssen's yards, and her stern at Blohm+Voss, Hamburg, with assembly of the sections and further outfitting carried out at Blohm+Voss's yards.^[1] Rheinland-Pfalz was laid down in 2015 and launched on 24 May 2017 by Malu Dreyer, minister-president of Rhineland-Palatinate.^[2] Rheinland-Pfalz is currently fitting out, prior to undergoing trials and eventual commissioning scheduled for 2019, at which point she is projected to join 4. Fregattengeschwader, based at Wilhelmshaven as part of Einsatzflottille 2.
