The Einsatzflottille 2 (EinsFltl 2 or EF 2) is one of the three large naval units of the German navy on brigade level in addition to the Einsatzflottille 1 and the Naval Air Command. EF 2 is under the department head of the naval command in Rostock.[1]
History
On June 27, 2006, the EF 2 was formed as part of the reorganization of the fleet. In EF 2, the largest units of the fleet are combined with frigates and supply ships.[2]
Organization
The staff of EF 2 are based at Wilhelmshaven. All frigates and some of the supply ships are stationed in Wilhelmshaven, others having their home ports on the Baltic Sea.
