George F. Lang is the state representative for the 52nd District of the Ohio House of Representatives. He is a Republican. The district consists of West Chester Township, Liberty Township, Fairfield Township and part of the City of Sharonville, Ohio in Butler County.

Life and career

A resident of West Chester, Ohio, Lang is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. He formerly served as a West Chester Township trustee serving from 2003 to 2017. Lang is a member of the Boy Scouts of America.[1]

State Representative George Lang is serving his first term in the Ohio House of Representatives after being appointed in September 2017. He represents the 52nd House District, which includes West Chester Township, Liberty Township, Fairfield Township and part of Sharonville in Butler County.

Lang graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1985 with a major in Communications and a double minor in Marketing and Speech. He is very active in the West Chester community since moving there in 1990, including more than two decades in public service. After serving seven years on the West Chester Board of Zoning Appeals, he ran for and won the election for township trustee in 2003, where he served until being appointed to the House.

Following working for eight years in various sales and managerial positions at Procter & Gamble, he left to start his own business in the financial services industry and has started numerous businesses since. Today, more than 100 people are employed in businesses he helped to create.

Lang and his high school sweetheart, Debbie, have been married for 34 years. They have two daughters, Amy and Alicia, and live in West Chester. [2]

Under Geroge Lang's leadership as a West Chester Township Trustee, the township experienced growth and the introduction of large employers such as AK Steel and General Electric. Total growth is reported at $1.6 billion. [3]

As State Representative, George Lang has stated that he wants to "make Ohio the most business-friendly state in the country." [4]

Ohio House of Representatives

In 2017, state representative Margaret Conditt unexpectedly announced she was resigning in the middle of her fourth term to spend more time with family, leaving Ohio House Republicans with the task of appointing her replacement.[5] Seven individuals applied for the appointment, including Lang.

Lang was ultimately chosen for the seat and was seated in the House on September 13, 2017.[6] He will have to run for a full term in 2018.

In the State House, Lang serves on the following committees: Community and Family Advancement, Criminal Justice, Finance, and Insurance. [7]
