George John Archdall
George John Archdall, D.D (b Spondon 14 May 1787 - d Cambridge 16 September 1871) was an academic in the 19th century.[1]
Archdall was educated at Derby School from where he went up to Emmanuel College, Cambridge.[2] He was a Fellow there from 1817, then Bursar and finally Master from 1835 until his death.[3] He was ordained in 1822, and was a Canon of Norwich Cathedral from 1842 until 1867. In 1863 he acquired by Royal License the additional surname of Gratwicke.[4]
