Geoffrey Frank Norcott (born 16 December 1976 in Sutton, London)[1] is an English comedian[2] who has been performing since 2001. He claims to be the only outwardly Conservative Party voter on the British comedy circuit.[3]

Career

Born in Sutton, Norcott grew up on a council estate in the neighbouring London borough of Merton. Both of his parents were disabled.

Norcott was previously an English Literature teacher and employs this in developing his routine. He has written comedy sketches for MTV, BBC Radio 2 & 4, and was a commissioned writer for Nuts TV from 2007-8. He was also involved with developing the football documentary Football Hurts.

On radio, Norcott has appeared on Yes It's the Ashes BBC Radio 5 Live, Jon Richardson's Show on BBC Radio 6 Music and has had frequent guest spots on Hawksby & Jacobs Show for Talksport.

In 2009, Norcott had his second solo show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe , The Shocking Truth about Men and Women at the Pleasance.

Norcott is a supporter of the Conservative Party.[4] His 2016 Edinburgh show, Conswervative, focused on his rarity as a pro-Brexit Conservative voter on the comedy circuit.[5]

In October 2017, the conservative commentator Iain Dale listed Norcott at Number 91 on the list of the '100 most influential on the Right'[6].

As of January 2018, Norcott appeared in BBC2's The Mash Report.
