The Geoemydinae are a subfamily of turtles consisting of 60 subspecies and 76 taxa.[1]

A phylogenetic tree showing the relationship between the extant families of turtles within the superfamily of Testudinoidea. The four primary families within the superfamily of Testudinoidea are Emydidae, Geoemydidae, Platysternidae, and Testudinae. The family of Emydidae is further subdivided into the subfamilies of Dierochelyinae and Emydinae. The family of Geoemydidae is further subdivided into Geoemydinae and Rhinoclemmydinae.
