Garland E. Pierce is a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly, representing the state's 48th House district since 2004. Pierce is African-American.[1]

During the 2016 legislative session, Pierce was one of 11 Democrats to vote in favor of HB2, the controversial "Bathroom Bill." [2]
