Frederick "Fred" Leonard Roffey (born 14 April 1895 – death unknown) was an English-born Welsh professional rugby league footballer of the 1920s. He played at representative level for Wales, and at club level for Wigan, and St. Helens (captain), as a prop, hooker, second-row, or loose forward/lock, i.e. number 8 or 10, 9, 11 or 12, or 13, during the era of contested scrums.[1][2][3]

Frederick Roffey won 2 caps for Wales in 1921–1926 while at Wigan, and St. Helens.[1]

Championship Final appearances

Frederick Roffey played left-second-row, i.e. number 11, in Wigan's 13-2 victory over Oldham in the Championship Final during the 1921–22 season at The Cliff, Broughton on Saturday 6 May 1922.[4]

County Cup Final appearances

Frederick Roffey played loose forward/lock in Wigan's 20-2 victory over Leigh in the 1922–23 Lancashire County Cup Final during the 1922–23 season at The Willows, Salford on Saturday 25 November 1922,[5] and played right-second-row, i.e. number 12, and was captain in St. Helens' 10-2 victory over St Helens Recs in the 1926–27 Lancashire County Cup Final during the 1926–27 season at Wilderspool Stadium, Warrington on Saturday 20 November 1926.
