Fidan Aliti (born 3 October 1993) is a Kosovo Albanian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Albanian club Skënderbeu Korçë and the Kosovo national team.

Early life

Aliti was born in Preševo, FR Yugoslavia to Albanian parents. He holds Kosovan, Albanian and Swiss passports.

Club career

Early career and Luzern

Aliti started his youth career at Concordia Basel. On 9 February 2014, he made his first debut against Thun in an away loss.[1]

Sheriff Tiraspol

On 31 August 2015, Aliti signed to Moldovan National Division side Sheriff Tiraspol.[2] He made his league debut for the club on 2 October 2015 in a 2-1 away victory over FC Saxan.[3]

Slaven Belupo

On 31 August 2016, Aliti signed to Croatian First Football League side Slaven Belupo.[4] He made his league debut for the club on 11 September 2016 in a 3-2 away loss to NK Lokomotiva.[5]

Skënderbeu Korçë

On 31 August 2017, Skënderbeu Korçë announced to have signed Aliti on a three-year deal, with the player taking squad number 6 for the 2017–18 season.[6] He made his competitive debut for the club on 6 September by playing in Skënderbeu 0–8 thrashing of Adriatiku Mamurras in the first leg of Albanian Cup first round.[7] His first Albanian Superliga appearance occurred on 18 September in the 1–1 draw at Kamza.[8]

In the 2017–18 UEFA Europa League Group B, Aliti made six appearances, three of them as starter, collecting 374 minutes as Skënderbeu was eliminated.[9] His first goal for the team came on 4 March of the following year in the 4–0 home win against Laçi.[10] Aliti concluded the first season by making 30 league appearances, helping Skënderbeu to win the title for the 8th time.[11] In cup, Aliti played 7 times as the tournament ended in conquest, meaning that Skënderbeu has achieved the domestic double for the first time in history.[12]

On 12 August 2018, Aliti commenced his second season with the club by winning the 2018 Albanian Supercup against Laçi, scoring the equalizer with a header in the second half in an eventual 3–2 win at Selman Stërmasi Stadium.[13]

International career

Albania

On 20 May 2014, Aliti received a call-up from Albania for the friendly matches against Romania, Hungary and San Marino.[14] On 31 May 2017, Aliti making his debut with Albania in a friendly match against Romania after coming on as a substitute at 79th minute in place of Ansi Agolli.

Kosovo

On 4 November 2016, it was announced that Aliti had accepted an invitation to represent Kosovo and he is the first player that comes from the Preševo Valley.[15] On 20 March 2017, Aliti received a call-up from Kosovo for a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Turkey.[16] On 11 June 2017, he made his debut with Kosovo in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Turkey after being named in the starting line-up.
