Bajram Jashanica (born 25 September 1990) is an Kosovo Albanian professional footballer who is contracted to Skënderbeu Korçë in the Albanian Superliga, but is banned from football until February 2020 after he tested positive in anti-doping testing.[1] Prior to his ban, he also played for the Kosovo national team and made his international debut for Kosovo in May 2014, at the age of 23.

Early life

Jashanica was born in Vranidoll, SFR Yugoslavia from Kosovo Albanian parents. His family with originally from Jasenica, Serbia.[2]

Club career

Skënderbeu Korçë

At the end of the 2014–15 he renewed his contract with Skënderbeu Korçë for another two years alongside fellow Kosovar Albanian player Leonit Abazi. The contract was signed on 5 June 2015, and it the two–year contract would keep Jashanica at the club until at least 2017, but with the option of another year as well.[3]

On 22 October 2015. Jashanica netted in a header from a corner assisted by teammate Bernard Berisha in a 5–1 away defeat against Sporting Lisbon in the 2015–16 UEFA Europa League group stage. That was the first ever goal that Skënderbeu Korçë have scored in a major tournament.[4]

International career

On 19 May 2014, Jashanica received a call-up from Kosovo for the friendly matches against Turkey and Senegal.[5] On 21 May 2014, he made his debut with Kosovo in friendly match against Turkey after coming on as a substitute at 80th minute in place of Mehmet Hetemaj.
