Football Club Jonava, previously (1996-2016) known as FK Lietava, is a Lithuanian professional football club based in Jonava. The club gained promotion to the A lyga as champions of the I Lyga in 2015, returning to the top division after a prolonged absence. On November 26 they broke their 5-game losing streak by beating Suduva 3–2.

History

It was founded in 1991 as Azotas, and the name Lietava was adopted in 1996.

From 2016 Lietava play in A Lyga championship. After season team was in 5th place.[2]

2017 stated from name change from Lietava to Jonava. [3] 13 February 2017 Lithanian Football Federation let change name.[4] [5] In 2017 was the best season ever. Team taked 6th place in A Lyga after four round and after last round was 4th.

In 2018 heads of club had very ambitously plans, but team was in last position. 11 January 2018 started his job new head coach from Portugal Felipe Ribeiro.[6] But team had problems and in 15 Mat 2018 was changed coach. [7][8] Soon head coach was changed again.Third coach in season could nor save team from last position.[9]

Stadium

Central Stadium of Jonava is the multi-purpose stadium in Jonava used by Lietava Jonava. The seating capacity is going to be expanded to 3,000.[10] Near the stadium is an outdoor pond, which can be used for water events.

Form 2017 season FK Jonava colours at home are light blue and white shirts with white arms. Shorts are black ans socks are white.
