The Embassy of Georgia in Washington, D.C. is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Georgia to the United States. It is located at 1824 R Street, Northwest, Washington, D.C.[1] The Embassy was founded in 1993. Since then the mission of the Embassy has been to advance Georgia-US relations in multiple sectors.

Georgia and United States have multisectoral relations. The parties have Bilateral Investment Treaty in place signed in 1994 by President Eduard Shevardnadze and President Bill Clinton. In 2009, Georgia and United States signed Strategic Partnership Agreement which deepens cooperation between the two states in multiple fields. Georgia and United States have deep security ties. Georgian Armed Forces have participated in US-led missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Embassy also serves as a Consulate of Georgia in Washington DC and serves the citizens of Georgia residing in the following US States: District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. The Consulate General of Georgia to the United States is located in New York, NY.

Current Ambassador of Georgia to the United States is David Bakradze, appointed in November 2016.

Prior to Ambassador Bakradze the position was held by the Ambassador Archil Gegeshidze, who was appointed ambassador in March 2013.[2] Ambassador Gegeshidze replaced Temur Yakobashvili who held the post since November 2010. Yakobashvili's predecessor was Batu Kutelia who was named to the post in December 2008.[3]
