Elise Hove Thorsnes (born 14 August 1988) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a forward for Utah Royals FC and the Norwegian national team.

Career

Thorsnes was born in Leikanger. She made her debut for the former elite team Kaupanger, and stayed there until her debut for Arna-Bjørnar in 2006. Thorsnes made her debut at the same time as Erika Skarbø, Madeleine Giske and Trude Johannessen. Arna-Bjørnar finished in 5th place. Thorsnes was the top scorer with 19 goals, and was named Young Player of the Year, and was one of the forwards in the year's team of the year. 2007 was less good, and Thorsnes finished with 6 goals. This led to a 4th place for Arna-Bjørnar.

In 2008 Giske was injured, and a lot fell on the shoulders of Thorsnes. She helped Arna-Bjørnar to a good 5th place and scored against all the top teams (apart from Røa). Thorsnes was the team's top scorer with 14 goals. In addition to the 19 goals she had scored in the league, she also scored 11 cup goals in 10 cup games. On 12 December, Thorsnes revealed that she would be playing for Røa.

Thorsnes won two championships in her first three seasons in Røa. In 2011, she was the Toppserien's top scorer for the second time with 27 goals, a personal record.[2]

For the national team, Thorsnes scored her first goal against Italy at the Algarve Cup.[3] Thorsnes was not called up to the China World Cup in 2007, but in 2008 Thorsnes caught Berntsen's eye, and played all games at the Beijing Olympics. She scored her second national goal as Norway beat Sweden in the quarterfinals of the 2009 European Championships.[4] In the 2011 World Cup she scored Norway's last goal in the tournament in its final 1–2 loss to Australia.

In October 2017, Thorsnes joined Canberra United for the 2017–18 W-League season.[5]
