Ei Chaw Po (Burmese: အိချောပို; born 3 January 1990) is a Burmese actress, commercial model. She is best known for her leading roles in several Burmese films and acted over 200 films in her acting career.[1][2][3]

Early life

Ei Chaw Po was born on 3 January 1990 in Yangon, Myanmar to parent Cho Maung and Thida San. She is the second daughter of three siblings, having an older brother, Ye Min Oo and a younger sister, May Thet Khine. She attended high school at Basic Education High School No. 2 Kamayut and graduated in BA cinematography and drama in 2010, Music diploma in 2012 from National University of Arts and Culture, Yangon.[4][5]

Career

Acting career

Ei Chaw Po began her modeling career in 2006 while in Grade 10, also acted magazine cover photos and has appeared in commercial model for many advertisements. Rising to fame in 2010, she became an actress. She made her acting debut in the Burmese film "Hla Pa Thaw Wut" (Pretty Karma), playing the main role in 2010. She then starred in Burmese film "I gonna sell my husband" (York Kyar Ko Yaung Sar Mal), where she played the leading role for a first time with actor Pyay Ti Oo. The film was both a domestic hit, and led to increased recognition for Ei Chaw Po.[6][7][8]

In 2014, she took on her first big-screen leading role in romance film Shaw Dingar Ko Htwe Khinn Ka Sar Mal, alongside actor Nay Toe, and directed by Nyi Nyi Tun Lwin which showing in Myanmar cinemas on 2015. She has been acted over 90 big screen movies and over 200 direct-to-videos in her acting career.[9] She was nominated for Myanmar Academy Award as best actress in 2016, 2017, and 2018.[10]

In 2017, she has starring as lead role in big-screen movie "Kyway ", with actor Hlwan Paing, which showing in Myanmar cinemas on 20 July 2018.[11][12][13]

Advertising

Ei Chaw Po appeared in a video advertisement for the Myanmar Awzar Fertilizer with actor Nay Toe in 2014.[14] She was appointed as brand ambassador of Ve Ve in 2016. She has appeared in commercial model for many advertisements in Myanmar.
