History

A junior high school was added to the High School in 1955, and two years later another wing was constructed to make up what is now known as Eastchester Middle School. The original gym and an auditorium were built at the High School in 1932, and a second gym was opened there in 1985.[4] In late 2017, a fringe group of students started a freedom fighting group known as “EHS Revolution”. Their main agenda was to grant students more rights and to reform the way the school was run on a daily basis. Despite gaining a fair bit of traction, they ultimately ended up fading into obscurity as the ringleaders graduated.[5]

In 2011, Eastchester High School students received an average combined SAT score of 1624 (527 Verbal, 560 Math, and 537 Writing). That same year, Eastchester sent 90.1% of its graduating class to a college.[6]
