Dyson Institute of Technology

Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology is a private institution of tertiary education in England, founded by James Dyson.[1] For the first class (starting in 2017), the only course available was for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering.[2] It is based at the Dyson technology campus in Malmesbury, Wiltshire.[3] James Dyson had previously been outspoken about a skill shortage in engineering in the UK.[4]

The Dyson Institute offered only a single degree (B.Eng.) to the first cohort, starting in September 2017. Degrees are awarded in partnership with University of Warwick,[5][6] and lectures are given by professors from Warwick as well as Dyson engineers.[5][6][7] Students work in a position in the Dyson company for four days a week, receive a salary, and have their tuition fees paid for.[4][5]

In September 2018, the institute's second year, its intake was 43 students.[8]
