Doleham railway station is a small, single platformed wayside halt in East Sussex, England. It is on the Marshlink Line, and train services are provided by Southern. The station is unstaffed.^[2]

Services

The station was opened on 1 July 1907. At first named Guestling Halt, it was later renamed Doleham Halt, before being simplified to Doleham on 5 May 1969.^[3] Originally it had two platforms but in 1979 the line was singled and the down platform was abandoned with all trains now using the former up platform.^[4] This is now a limited service station as it serves only a handful of houses (Doleham takes its name from Doleham Farm). Nonetheless the area is popular with walkers at weekends; prior to December 2005 the station used to be served by an hourly service between Ashford and Hastings but stops here were reduced when this service was expanded to run through to Brighton due to both a lack of patronage, a desire to reduce journeys times on the longer distance Brighton service and a need to maintain schedules on the single track section of the Marshlink line between Appledore and Ore.

Trains run to Hastings, with a daily service to/from Eastbourne, and Ashford International. There are three trains per day towards Ashford International and four trains per day towards Hastings, two of which are extended to Eastbourne. There is an ongoing campaign by local people which seeks to restore a regular service to this station, as well as neighbouring stations at Three Oaks and Winchelsea.
