Divya Dua, known professionally as Divya Khosla Kumar, (born 20 November 1981) is an Indian former actress, and now a producer and director.[1] She has directed various advertisements and has also featured in some music videos. She is the wife of Bhushan Kumar, the head of T-Series music label and film production company.

Personal life

She was born in a middle-class Punjabi Hindu family from Delhi. She shifted to Mumbai to pursue her career. Kumar married Bhushan Kumar, the head of T-Series[2] on 13 February 2005 at the Maa Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. They have a son, Ruhaan.[3][4][5][6] Her sister-in-law is playback singer Tulsi Ralhan.[7]

Career

Divya started her career in Bollywood as an actress with the 2004 film Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo.[8] (She also made her Tollywood debut in the same year with the film Love Today). Divya then did a course in cinematography and editing. After that, Divya directed music videos for Agam Nigam, Jermaine Jackson, Tulsi Kumar, and a few ad films. After directing 20 music videos, Divya did her first directorial venture Yaariyan in 2014.[9] Divya also choreographed 5 songs in the film, including "Baarish", "Maa", "Love Me Thoda Aur", "Allah Wariya" and "Zor Lagake".[10] Divya recently debuted as director for a college romance movie called Yaariyan, that released on 10 January 2014, and then her new directorial movie Sanam Re was released on 12th Feb 2016.[11][12][13][14] Divya is also one of the producers of the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer film Roy.

As an actress

She starred in film Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo opposite to Bobby Deol. She has also starred in the songs "Humne Pee Rakhi Hai" and "Akkad Bakkad", from her movie Sanam Re in 2016. Again she came in lead role in BulBul, which released on 7 December 2017, the film was directed by Ashish Panda.
