Dimitra Korri (born July 17, 1992) is a Greek international competitive figure skater.[1][2] She is the 2018 EduSport Trophy Senior Ladies International Silver medalist.[2][3][4] She is also the 2018 Balkan Games Senior Ladies International Bronze medalist.[5] Korri is a three-time (2014, 2017 and 2018) Greek National Figure Skating Champion as well as a two-time (2011 and 2013) Greek National Silver medalist.[1][2][6] She made her international debut at the 2011 ISU Junior Grand Prix in Brasov, Romania.[7][8] She is also a three-time Greek National record holder for speed skating in 500m, 1000m, and 1500m races.[9][2]

Personal life

Korri spent her childhood between Greece and the USA.[10] She went to school in the United States and spent her summers in Greece.[10] She speaks fluent Greek and English.[1][2]

Career

Korri began skating at the age of six and has been representing Greece internationally since the 2011–12 season.[2][11][12] She won the Greek National Figure Skating Championships in 2014, 2017 and 2018.[13][6] At the 2018 Greek National Figure Skating Championships she achieved an historic national record for the highest score ever posted at a Greek national championship.[14][15] Additionally, she holds two national silver medals from the 2011 and 2013 Greek National Championships as well as one national bronze medal from the 2012 Greek National Championships.[6] She finished 9th at the 2013 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic. [16] In March 2017, she won the silver medal at the 29th Coppa Europa in Italy.[12] In January 2018, she won the senior international silver medal at the EduSport Trophy in Romania.[2][3][4] She finished 4th at the 2018 Triglav Trophy and in March 2018 she earned a bronze medal at the Balkan Games.[1] This was the first time since 1989 that a Greek female athlete had achieved a podium position at a Balkan Games.[5]

Korri is known for executing a low one handed hydroblade in her skating programs.[17][18]
