Devudu Chesina Manushulu (English: God Made Humans) is a 1973 Action drama film, produced by G. Hanumantha Rao under the Padmalaya Studios banner, presented by Krishna and directed by V. Ramachandra Rao. It stars N. T. Rama Rao, Krishna, Jayalalitha and Vijaya Nirmala in the lead roles, with music composed by Ramesh Naidu. The film was remade in Hindi as Takkar under the same banner. The film was recorded as a Blockbuster at the box office.

Plot

The story is about a Zamindar Dasaradharamaiah (S. V. Ranga Rao); his eldest son Ramakrishna (N. T. Rama Rao) gets lost in childhood due to the wickedness of his stepmother and her brother, who attempt to kill him. After that, he becomes a smuggler as Ramu, who later changes to a good man and in an accidental way, comes to his estate but couldn't reveal his identity as his past haunts him. While on the other hand, Dasaradharamaiah's second son Gopi (Krishna) & daughter Geeta (Kanchana) lead carefree and level-headed lives. Meanwhile, a smuggler assumes the identity of an honest man Hari Prasad (Jaggayya), who looks like him, in order to evade the police. Finally, Ramu gets the smugglers and his gang arrested, brings change in his brother and sister's behavior and joins his family, they live happily ever after.

Box office

The film celebrated its Silver Jubilee and ran for more than 175 days in two centers, Vijayawada and Nellore.[1]

The song "Masaka Masaka Cheekatilo..." sung by L. R. Eeswari and pictured on actress Kanchana was a rage in the entire Andhra Pradesh.
