Devereux is a surname of Norman origin frequent in England and the English-speaking world. The name is notably found in Wexford, where the Normans first landed in Ireland from Pembrokeshire in Wales.
It is a variant of Devreux (which unlike Devereux[1] is still encountered in Normandy) meaning "d'Évreux" or "from Évreux", a town in Normandy, France.
