Dennis William Rampling (25 November 1923 – September 2015) was an English professional football outside right, who played in the Football League for Fulham, Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic and Brentford.

Playing career

Fulham

An outside right, Rampling began his career with Fulham during the Second World War, signing in November 1942.[2] He made just four appearances and scored one goal for the club before departing in July 1948.

Worcester City (loan)

Rampling had a short spell on loan at Southern League side Worcester City during the 1946–47 season,[2] making five appearances.

Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic

Rampling signed for Division Three South high-flyers Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic in July 1948.[2] He made 24 league appearances and scored four goals in his one season at Dean Court.

Brentford

Rampling joined Division Two side Brentford in May 1949.[2] He made his debut for the club on the opening day of the 1949–50 season against Tottenham Hotspur,[3] but failed to make another appearance for the club before departing in April 1950.[2]

Non-league football

After his release from Brentford, Rampling dropped into non-league football and had spells with Weymouth and Ashford Town.[2][4]

Personal life

Rampling was called into the RAF in 1946 and served as a PT instructor.
