Deni Milošević (Bosnian pronunciation: [děni milǒːʃeʋitɕ]; born 9 March 1995) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Süper Lig club Konyaspor and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Milošević started his professional career with Standard Liège. In 2015, he had a loan stint in Waasland-Beveren. The following year, he joined Konyaspor.

Milošević represented Belgium and Bosnia and Herzegovina on youth levels, but decided to represent the latter on senior level. He made his senior international debut in 2018.

Club career

Early career

Born in Liège, Milošević went through Standard Liège's youth academy.[1] He made his professional debut on 12 December 2013 in a UEFA Europa League game against Swedish side Elfsborg.[2]

Wanting to play more, Milošević signed a one-year loan deal with Waasland-Beveren in September 2015.[3] During the loan, he scored his first professional goal, in a game versus Club Brugge on 20 September.[4]

Konyaspor

On 9 June 2016, Milošević signed a three-year contract with the Turkish club Konyaspor.[5] He made his official debut for the club in the opening game of league competition, providing an assist in a 1–1 away draw against Rizespor.[6] Milošević wrote his name in Konyaspor's history books, as he scored their first goal in European competitions, which was also his first goal for the team.[7] A few months later, Milošević scored his first league goal for the team, helping his team secure a narrow win over Rizespor.[8] In his first season, Milošević helped Konyaspor win their first title ever, beating İstanbul Başakşehir on penalties in Turkish Cup final.[9]

At the beginning of his second season, Milošević won another trophy with Konyaspor by beating Beşiktaş 2–1 in Turkish Super Cup.[10]

International career

Milošević played for Belgium in youth categories, but switched to Bosnia and Herzegovina after he received a call from his parent's homeland, stating that it was difficult to play for another country if your last name ended with "ić".[11] He was first part of Bosnia and Herzegovina under-21 selection.[12]

In February 2016, he was voted 2015 Bosnian young player of the year, by country's sports journalists.[13]

In August 2017 he received his first call-up to the senior national team, for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Cyprus and Gibraltar.[14] He made his debut on 23 March 2018 in a 1–0 friendly win against Bulgaria.[15]

Personal life

Deni is a son of Bosnian former footballer, Cvijan Milošević.[16]
