Deeksha (English: Initiation) is a 1974 Telugu drama film, produced by Koganti Kutumba Rao and Vajje Subba Rao under the Sri Padmaja Films banner[3] and directed by K. Pratyagatma.[4] It stars N. T. Rama Rao, Jamuna in the lead roles,[5] with music composed by Pendyala Nageswara Rao.[6]
Plot
Ramaiah (Jaggayya) is a middle-class farmer. He lives with wife Shanthamma (Anjali Devi), son Raja and daughter Kamala. They have contended with their 5-acres land and live happily. Zamindar Jaganadham (Prabhakar Reddy), wants to grab Ramaiah's 5 acres because Ramaiah's land is in between his lands. Jaganadham lures Ramiah a lot, but he did not yield to it. So, he plans and makes Ramaiah stand as surety for his henchmen Adiseshayya (Sakshi Ranga Rao) to get the loan from him. After that, Jaganadham shows fake documents and occupies that land through the court. Ramaiah dies out of shock. Before dying, he tells Raja before his last breath to get back their land. Ten-years-old, Raja decides to take revenge as Jaganadham and get back their property which is his Initiation. Linga Murthy is the brother of Jaganadham, whom he kept in his custody for the diamonds which he brought from abroad. In some mysterious circumstances, he meets Raja, tells him about the diamonds and asks him to hand them over to his family. Then Linga Murthy dies. Raja shifts his family to the city and starts working in a garage. There Jaganadham snatches his brother Linga Murthy's property is, make his family orphans and they also leave for the city.
Years roll by, Raja (N. T. Rama Rao) becomes a foreman. But his childhood desire for revenge is still burning in his heart and he is still in search of Lingamurthy’s family. Rani (Jamuna) daughter of Jaganadham acts as a flower vendor, meets Raja and loves him. Raja’s sister Kamala (K. Vijaya) loves Brahanandam (Raja Babu) a pickpocket and also son of Lingamurthy. He steals from the rich and feeds the poor. Raja, knowing Kamala’s love meets Brahmanandam and comes to know that he is the son of Lingamurthy and he hands over the diamonds to him. Brahanandam and Raja now unite for the common enemy. Raja, in disguise as a merchant from Burma, meets Jaganadham and knows all his secrets. Jaganadham is afraid of knowing that Raja is the son of Ramaiah. He wants to marry his daughter Rani with an American-returned. Raja comes to their house as the American bridegroom. Jaganadham introduces him as their son-in-law to all. Meanwhile, Jaganadham molests a poor girl and throws money on them. To teach him a lesson, Raja plays with Rani's fidelity and throws her at Jaganadham's feet. There, he found that he is none other than Raja. When the truth is revealed, Raja threatens Jaganadham and forcibly gets back his land. Rani is hurt by Raja's behavior, so, she wants to take revenge against Raja. Next day, Raja goes to occupy the land. Then Jagannadham attacks him with his goons, Raja encounters them and surrenders Jaganadham to Police. At last, when Rani is about to kill Raja, she understands the virtue of him and says sorry. Finally, the movie ends on the happy note with the marriage of Raja and Rani.
