The Day of the Police of Belarus (Belarusian:Дзень паліцыі Беларусі, Dzień palicyi Bielarusi) is a professional holiday of the Belarusian police. On March 4, 1917, Mikhail Frunze was appointed the chief of the militia of the city of Minsk.[1] This date is considered to be the birthday of the Belarusian police. The holiday was officially approved by the decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, on March 26, 1998.[2] It is usually celebrated with a parade of the internal troops in October Square in Minsk.[3][4][5][6]
