David Kirke (bungee jumper)
David Kirke (born 1945) is a founding member of the Dangerous Sports Club and was the first man to perform the modern bungee jump in 1979.[1]
He studied at Wellington College and Corpus Christi College, Oxford where he studied English and philosophy. After a brief spell as a publisher in London, he returned to Oxford in the late 1960s and co-founded the Dangerous Sports Club with Edward Hulton.
