Darvel Football Club are a Scottish football club, based in the town of Darvel, Ayrshire.

History

Nicknamed "The Vale" or "The Juniors", and formed in 1889, the club play at Recreation Park (on Irvinebank Road), and currently, the West Region of the Scottish Junior Football Association. Reaching the final of the 197576 Scottish Junior Cup (beaten 30 by Bo'ness United) has been the most illustrious point in the club's history.[1]

During the 2016/17 season Darvel won the title in the Ayrshire District League and gained promotion to the Super 1st Division

The team was managed from June 2013 to November 2017 by Scott Clelland,[2] who achieved the status as the man who helped bring back the glory days to the Darvel dressing room and Recreation Park.

In the season 2017/18 Darvel secured their position in the Super First Division.
