Dangon is a village in the Raikot tehsil of Ludhiana district in Punjab State, India.[1][2] Dango is the other variation for the same name.[3][4][5]

Notable personalities

  • Indian movie superstar Dharmendra's ancestral origins lie in the village.[6]
  • A folk character, Munshi Dango da, of this village is an integral part of Punjabi folklore.

The shooting of Aamir Khan starrer movie "Dangal", with Aamir portraying the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat took place in the villages of Guujarwal, Narangwal, Kila Raipur, Dango and Leel in Punjab and Haryana in September 2015.[7]
