Cowal Community Hospital is a Community Hospital in Dunoon on the Cowal peninsula, Argyll and Bute in the West of Scotland. It is managed by NHS Highland. This hospital provides cover for the Cowal peninsula population, numbering some fifteen thousand people.[1]
History
Dunoon and District General Hospital opened in 1966 with 74 beds, mainly configured in four-bed wards.[2]
It has a GP-led Accident and Emergency Department, a Maternity Unit, Dental Surgery Suite, an eight bed General Ward and there is also numerous Consultant led Clinics held at the hospital.[3]
Dunoon Hospice
funded by NHS Highland, a four bed hospice and two supported care bedsHospice are located within Cowal Community Hospital.[4]
