Country Inns & Suites by Radisson (CI&S) is an American hotel brand owned by the Radisson Hotel Group, which accommodates both business and leisure travelers. CI&S hotels are mainly independently owned and operated, and franchised under licensing agreements with Radisson Hotel Group.

History

CI&S opened its first hotel in Burnsville, Minnesota in 1987. The first one was opened next to a kitchen named Country Kitchen (1964–present), which spun off into its own company, CI&S.

On August 25, 1989, its headquarters was in Chanhassen, Minnesota, next to Country Kitchen, as a domestic restaurant.

In 1991 in Japan, its Japan headquarters is called Country Suites Japan of Tokyo.

Between 1995 and 2006 Country Kitchen shut down when it became Country Restaurant in 2006.

The portfolio of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group includes more than 1,300 hotels in 81 countries and territories, under brands Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson, Country Inns & Suites by Radisson (previously by Carlson), and Hotel Missoni. The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group and its brands employ more than 80,000 people.

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, US, and Brussels, Belgium.
