Conquest Hospital is a National Health Service hospital in St. Leonards-on-Sea near the borough of Hastings in East Sussex, England. When Conquest Hospital opened in 1992 it was part of Hastings and Rother NHS Trust which, in 2002, merged with Eastbourne Hospitals NHS Trust to form East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust. Then in 2012 East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust integrated with Community Services in East Sussex to form East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

The services provided at the hospital include a Coronary Care Unit (CCU); Chaplaincy Centre; Children's Unit - Kipling Children's Unit; Cancer Care Centre; Day hospital for the Elderly; Delivery Suite; Diagnostic laboratories and services; Dietetics and Special Therapy Services; Emergency Department (A&E); Endoscopy Suite; Gynaecology Ward; High Dependency Unit; Hydrotherapy Pool; Intensive Care Unit (ICU); Consultant-led Maternity Unit; Medical Assessment Unit; Early Pregnancy Unit; Medical and Elderly Unit; Occupational and Physiotherapy Services; Operating Theatres; Outpatients Departments; Radiology - MRI and CT suites; Short Stay Surgical Unit; Sleep Disorder Service; Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU); Wards - medical and surgical.

The hospital succeeds four previous hospitals in and around the Hastings and St Leonards-on-sea area. These consisted of:

  • the Royal East Sussex Hospital
  • the Buchanan Hospital
  • St Helens Hospital
  • Eversfield Hospital

The new hospital merged the first three hospitals services. Eversfield remained open for other NHS uses over the years, its last known use being for mental health and was still open in the early 2000 era.

The Royal East Sussex was the main hospital offering emergency services (Casualty) and other general in-patient services. It was first opened in the 1920s era and was extended with numerous buildings. The Buchanan also offered in-patient services and surgeries while the St Helens was known to offer cardiac specialist services.
