Cocoon Capital is a Singapore-based venture capital fund focusing on online, early-stage technology companies.[1]
History
Cocoon Capital was founded by Michael Robert Blakey and William Klippgen in 2016[2] in Singapore.
Investments
The firm invests in early-stage, private technology companies. It specialises in seed stage and startup stage investments.[3] The company mainly invests in companies based in Southeast Asia with between $400,000 and $750,000.[4]
Cocoon Capital has invested in over 10 companies since 2016, including ticketing platform Hapz.com,[5] Filipino electronics retailer Poundit.com,[6] energy management company SensorFlow,[7] Vietnamese social media management platform Hiip.asia and Singapore-based web delivery platform Dexecure.com.[8] Its portfolio is mainly in B2B SaaS, B2B fintech and B2B deep tech.[9] Since December 2017, the fund has been a partner with the Singapore government-linked innovation agency SG Innovate[10]
