Clark Shao (September 9, 1983 – October 10, 2016) was a professional fitness trainer from Houston, Texas, a diet, nutrition, & health expert who was a YouTube fitness sensation from Six pack shortcuts.[1][2]

Biography

Clark Shao, born in Houston Texas, first became interested in physical fitness when he was 14 years old, training with his school friend Mike Chang. After reaching adulthood, and upon finding himself to be overweight and out of shape, he decided to return to his youthful interest and set out on a course to fitness.[3]

Shao who turned bodybuilder/fitness trainer became Houston's celebrity personal trainer,[4] at one stage Clark was the most subscribed trainer in the world on YouTube with almost 4 million subscribers. He started working in some of the most famous fitness clubs as a personal trainer in the Houston area, which earned him an invite to train on NBC's hit show "Biggest Loser" in 2006.[5]

He was running his own independent fitness center and in 2008 he became the exclusive trainer of the Houston Rockets Power Dancers. Clark would later become the lead trainer for the SPS brand after Mike Chang's retirement.[6][7]

Death

On October 10, 2016, Shao died from a motorcycle accident while vacationing in Koh Phangan Thailand. Shao was killed and his girlfriend injured, in what was reported to be a head on crash with another vehicle while riding his motorcycle in the rain on a muddy road.[8]
