Christian University GlobalNet

Christian University GlobalNet is an online university run by Our Daily Bread Ministries.[1]

History

CUGN began in 1998 as a collaborative partnership among the colleges, universities, and seminaries of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.[2]

In 2009, the full archive of courses from the Institute of Theological Studies was folded into the CUGN catalog, thus allowing CUGN to offer a range of courses ranging from basic Bible survey through seminary-level education.

CUGN became an affiliate of RBC Ministries in October 2002[3] and began offering free and low-cost Christian training under the ChristianCourses.com brand.[4]

Method

CUGN develops and delivers asynchronous online learning courses and other digital resources for parachurch ministries, churches, schools, and individuals (see Affiliates section). CUGN has a variety of delivery systems including the Internet, audio CD, DVD-ROM, and mobile devices. CUGN's courses have used material provided by Day of Discovery a ministry of RBC Ministries.

Statistics

CUGN courses have been used by more than 100 seminaries and Christian institutions/schools around the globe including most of the schools associated with the Evangelical Seminary Deans' Council. At present, nearly 1,500 students are enrolled in the CUGN graduate program and more than 245,000 in the certificate and free courses program through its sister organization ChristianCourses.com.[5]
