Chitkara University, Punjab is a private university in India with its campus in Punjab. It offers undergraduate programs, post-graduate program and doctoral programs in fields like Engineering, Management, Pharmacy and other courses in Health Sciences, Nursing, etc.[2]
History

Chitkara University was founded by the Punjab State Legislature under "The Chitkara University Act" in 2010.[3] The university comes under the establishment of the Chitkara Educational Trust[4] based in Chandigarh and founded by Dr Ashok K Chitkara and Dr Madhu Chitkara in 1998.[5]
Affiliations
Like all universities in India, Chitkara University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).[6] The university is also accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).[7] Relevant programmes are approved by the Council of Architecture (COA),[8] Pharmacy Council of India (PCI),[9] National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE),[10] Indian Nursing Council (INC)[11] and National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT).[12]

Chitkara Educational Trust established the Punjab Campus in 2002 with initiation of Chitkara Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET). The campus is spread over 50 acres, 30 kilometers from Chandigarh.[15]
