Chipping Norton School is a mixed secondary school with academy status located in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. It is attended by 1000 students, with 200 in Sixth Form. It has no specific religious denomination and is non-boarding.

The school has a specialist status as an Arts College and was given a further Science College specialism in 2009.

The current head teacher is Barry Doherty replacing Simon Duffy from the autumn term 2018.[1]

The school joined the River Learning Trust, a multi-academy trust on 1st March 2017.[2]

Ofsted

In 2017, Ofsted reported huge improvements within the school and subsequently rated it 'good', with an 'outstanding' sixth form. It's no longer in 'special measures'.

The 2015 Ofsted report gave the school a grade of 4 - inadequate. It was subsequently placed in 'special measures'

An Ofsted report in 2007 gave the school an overall rating of 2, or good (1 being outstanding, 3 satisfactory and 4 inadequate). It received a 2 in all sections of the report with the exception of 'Curriculum and Other Activities', where it received a 3.

The 2012 Ofsted report gave the school the following ratings: Overall effectiveness - 2, Achievement of pupils - 2, Quality of teaching - 2, Behaviour and safety of pupils - 2, Leadership and management - 2. Two areas for improvement were identified: 'strengthen leadership and management' : 'increase the proportion of good and outstanding teaching'.[3]
