The DAP headquarters was then located at Choo Teik Building, Seremban. In 1980s Negeri Sembilan was a stronghold of the DAP. Negeri Sembilan has 7 parliamentary seats and 32 seats. [1]

Elections

Following the death of MCA Assemblyman in Rahang, Negeri Sembilan, Chen Man Hin was contesting as Independent and he won. The Rahang by election was held on December 9, 1965. He used the 'cherry blossom' symbol. At that time, the DAP was in the process of establishing and successfully registered on March 18, 1966. The victory allowed him to be the DAP national chairman. In the 1964 Malaysian General Election, the opposition was severely beaten by the split of the People's Party and the Labor Party. People's Party, under the leadership of Ahmad Boestamam, is still in jail, protesting against the actions of the Labor Party who questioned the position of the Malay language. Labour Party chairman Lim Kean Siew, MP Keramat and Black Water Assemblyman, Penang, questioned Malay as the medium of instruction in Malaysia. [3]

He subsequently won the Elections of 1978 and 1986. In 1986, DAP won 24 parliamentary seats and 56 state seats.
