Charbel, sometimes spelled Sharbel, a Christian name. The origin of the name is Aramaic, being a combination of 'Charbo' and 'Eil', meaning God's good news. It is most common among ethnic Assyrians, Maronites, Syriac-Arameans of the Near East.
