The Central District of Karaj County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان کرج) is a district (bakhsh) in Karaj County, Alborz Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 1,667,024, in 460,242 families.[2] The District has six cities: Karaj, Mahdasht, Kamal Shahr, Mohammadshahr, Garmdarreh, and Meshkin Dasht. The District has three rural districts (dehestan): Garmdarreh Rural District, Kamalabad Rural District, and Mohammadabad Rural District.
